Beverly Meets the QUEEN

It was an industry first when earlier this year Beverly C. became the first woman to be awarded an MBE for services to hairdressing.  On receiving her accolade from HM The Queen Elizabeth II, Beverly C said, “The whole day was incredible from start to finish!”

Beverly compared the excitement of the day to getting married “I was trying to get myself ready plus my three daughters - hair make-up and clothes for all of us… you can picture the scene!  Thankfully The Dorchester Hotel gave us a lovely room to get ready in, so we could arrive at the Palace looking perfect.

The Palace staff were wonderful: they made us feel so welcome and it was a such a thrill walking in, passing the hordes of tourists with their cameras outside the gates!  Once inside, it was a very humbling experience.  It was only once I was there, that I actually took on board the history around me and actually grasped the enormity of it all and what a prominent day it was both in my life and the lives of my daughters.”

She continued “My three daughters were so very proud of me and I really felt that my late mother and father were looking down on me proudly too – it was an emotional day for all of us!”
